My fingers hurt from the cold. The temperature guage said zero degrees but the wind chill must have brought the temperature down to -4. There have been very few birds in the garden today, but our old faithfuls, the collared doves have visited.
I saw a couple of birds I didn’t recognise today, but there were lots of blackbirds and some crows wandering about on their own.
I spotted a Green Woodpecker in the neighbour’s garden as I walked down the lane.
I think this bird is a Fieldfare.
