A Question of Colour

I’ve printed quite a few Christmas cards in the first batch and decided to change the colour for the second batch.  I’m managed to create a nice deep red colour ink by combining some LUKAS Deep Red Linol 9009 with some Gerstaecker Aqua-Linol Black 706.  Both of these inks are water based and although the ink was quite ‘slippy’ on the glass at first, I managed to bring it back to make that lovely ‘tacky’ sound that you need to hear before you can use the ink.  I think this colour works better for the print and as it’s a Christmas card, the colour also adds to the occasion.  So, it’s a reminder for me to double check the colour even when I’m doing a single colour print – don’t just go for black.
